The Friends is a fun organization that  
creates opportunities for interesting
activities! The Friends is a volunteer
organization for enthusiastic people
dedicated to supporting and promoting
the cultural and educational programs
of the Hillsboro Museums.  The Friends
aim to encourage interest and public
support of the Museums and to raise
funds for special projects.
FRIENDS HAVE OPPORTUNITIES:

  • to work with teachers and students in the Museums’ One Room
    School House.

  • to help with the Museums’ Memorial Day Folk Festival,  the July
    Fourth Eve event, and other special events.

  • to help host events at the Museums’ Schaeffler House.

  • to meet and interact with interesting people from around the
    world as a guide to one of the Mennonite Settlement Museums’
    exhibits.

  • and much more!
MEMBERSHIP HAS ITS PRIVILEGES:

  • to receive a 10% discount at the Museum Store.

  • to receive discounted tours of the museums for groups of friends and family.

  • to enter into an annual contest: the two volunteers who record the most volunteer
    hours in a year will receive nice prizes.

  • to receive the quarterly Museums newsletter.

  • to participate in special members-only events and activities, as these activities can be
    organized.
