July 3rd – Fourth of July Eve –at the Schaeffler House Museum, Uncle Sam, Abe Lincoln, decorated
bike/tricycle parade, political speakers, bands, soloists and other patriotic music – hot dogs and ice cream at
the back porch.


September 20th – Arts and Crafts Sausage-on-a-Stick sales –– sausage-on-a-stick sales and souvenirs
from the Friends Museum Store – north end of Main Street, down town Hillsboro


October 4th – Concert on the Lawn – and final Farmers' Market –everyone invited to bring lawn
chairs and enjoy live music from the porch of the Schaeffler House – food at the back porch.


October 18th - 50th Anniversary Celebration

•        A lecture series or a day long workshop at the Scout House in the Park – repeated in the
morning and afternoon

•        A weekend ethnic food and cooking demonstration both inside the Peter Paul Loewen House
and at the Russian outdoor oven at the Loewen House

•        A special weekend quilt show in the historic church at Tabor

•        Press conference, ribbon cutting and reception for the new exhibits, fliers and/or handouts
advertising the Exhibits in the Visitor Center


December 6st & 7th – Old-Fashioned Christmas at the Schaeffler House –– St.  Niklaus at the
Schaeffler House – photo opportunity for children under 12, refreshments.


December 13th – Weihnachts Fest –Old-fashioned German Christmas music program in the
historic church on the Tabor College campus.
