FOLK FEST!  Held at the Mennonite
Settlement Museum.

Celebrate THE FOURTH of JULY EVE
held at the
Schaeffler House Museum on
the 3rd of July!  Designated a Hillsboro
Year of the Museum event.


  • Political speeches

  • Children's games

  • Patriotic music; bands and singers

  • Hot dogs and homemade ice cream

  • Free sparklers and prizes for
    children.

  • Children ages 12 and under are
    invited to bring their decorated red
    wagons, tricycles, bikes, scooters
    and doll carriages to walk in the
    “Red, White and Blue” parade .

  • Lots of patriotic fun for all!
Late November or Early December:

1. Celebrate An Old Fashioned
Christmas at the Schaeffler House.

The house is authentically decorated and  
features an old fashioned Christmas tree
decorated with ornaments and candles
from the Edwardian period (1901-1910).  

2. Weihnachts Fest.  

An evening of old-fashioned German
Christmas music at the historic church on
the Tabor campus.
Enjoy Sausage-on-a-Stick at the
Friends of the Hillsboro Museums
booth at the annual Arts & Crafts Fair in
Hillsboro every third Saturday in September!

The Friends sell around 200 pounds of
the best Hillsboro German sausage
together with wonderful Hillsboro made
mustard.  The sausage sales support the
Friends programs.

Patrons of the Friends'
Sausage-on-a-Stick come back year after
year to buy our sausage!
